Our company's success is deeply connected to the diverse talents, experiences, and perspectives of our employees, as well as the vibrant communities we serve.
We dedicate resources to improve the quality of life in communities where Sentry has a presence and encourage our employees to do the same. We engage in our communities and support organizations and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion throughout the community and in the employment base.
First Tee, a youth development organization, teaches life skills and helps kids and teens build their strength of character through golf. In 2021, Sentry partnered with First Tee to support initiatives to help expand programs, especially in underserved and underrepresented communities, as well as keep kids and teens engaged as they progress through the program and toward higher education. These initiatives include curriculum enhancements, technology innovations, ongoing research, and diversity and inclusion efforts for the growing network of 150 First Tee chapters.
In 2021, Sentry honored the legacy of Bart Starr—the iconic Green Bay Packers quarterback, coach, and longtime Sentry board member—with a $1.5 million donation to Rawhide, an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth in Wisconsin. Starr co-founded Rawhide with his wife, Cherry, in 1960.
Our contribution supports the Starr Youth Home, providing a safe haven and therapeutic care for young people. Additionally, the donation aids in establishing the Bart & Cherry Starr Museum, a tribute to the Starrs’ enduring legacy and their commitment to the Rawhide mission and Sentry.
We’re committed to supporting initiatives that enhance fairness and representation in our communities. Through our contributions, we aim to facilitate opportunities and respect for all, building towards a more inclusive society.
We're dedicated to making education accessible and equitable. Sentry provides over 20 scholarships at various colleges nationwide, aimed at empowering students from underserved communities to overcome barriers and succeed.
UWSP’s LEAD program (leadership, empowerment, and discovery) provides an inclusive and welcoming experience for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Sentry also contributes to UWSP’s Diversity and College Access initiative, which works to improve the retention and graduation rates for students from marginalized communities.
Fostering a sense of belonging for Portage County youth, this program equips staff with resources devoted to creating inclusive spaces for all club members and their families and promoting a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
Sentry has a long history of supporting education, reaching students from kindergarten through college. We believe education brings value and economic opportunity to our workforce and communities.
For generations, we’ve been committed to improving the communities where we live and work. It’s a reflection of our values and the people that make these communities so special.
