Campaign also results in record donation to United Way of Portage County, where Sentry is headquartered.
STEVENS POINT, Wis., (November 12, 2024)— Sentry Insurance concluded its successful employee-driven United Way campaign, raising a record-breaking $1.7 million. This annual two-week effort underscores the company’s commitment to community support and its employees' dedication to giving back.
The campaign saw impressive participation rates, with 92% of employees in Stevens Point and 85% nationwide pledging their support. Employees were able to direct their contributions to the United Way of their choice, ensuring their donations made a local impact.
“The success of our campaign comes from the passion and generosity of our employees,” said Pete McPartland, Sentry Chairman and CEO. “They’re advocates for their communities, driven by a deep desire to make a positive impact. It never ceases to amaze me how they think creatively and find innovative ways to achieve record-breaking results year after year.”
The funds supported United Way chapters in 17 communities where Sentry has offices, with $1.33 million benefiting the United Way of Portage County, where the company is headquartered.
“Sentry is a company that cares, truly cares. And here at Sentry, you’ve taken it to the next level,” said Fred Hebblewhite, United Way of Portage County Executive Director. “Your organization and your associates have a vested interest in the communities where you live and work. Your empathy—and most notably, your actions—truly set you apart. What you do genuinely makes a difference.”
Most funds were raised through employee pledges and a matching donation from the Sentry Foundation. Additionally, Sentry employees led creative fundraising events, including a golf scramble, basket raffles, and food sales.
