Sentry named a top trucking insurer by Forbes Advisor and U.S. News & World Report

Mutual insurer earns recognition for trucking expertise, tailored services, and customer satisfaction.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (March 5, 2024) – Sentry Insurance, one of the nation’s largest mutual insurance groups, has been recognized by both Forbes Advisor and U.S. News & World Report as one of the best commercial truck insurers of 2024. The ratings highlight Sentry’s commitment to providing customized coverages, specialized safety programs, and in-house claims support.

“We’re honored to receive meaningful recognitions from Forbes and U.S. News,” said Dan Clements, Senior Director of Sales for Sentry’s Transportation business. “Trucking is the backbone of our economy, and we’re proud to offer individualized protections for trucking operations of all sizes. Congratulations to the other fine companies recognized as well, and thanks to Forbes and U.S. News for putting us in this special and prestigious class.”

Sentry, which insurers more than 7,000 trucking customers and 48,000 units, was specifically featured by Forbes Advisor for customer satisfaction and an extremely low level of complaints. Forbes Advisor evaluated 12 trucking insurance companies based on commercial auto insurance complaints using data from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, while also considering coverage options and online features in its rankings.

U.S. News & World Report recognized Sentry as a top-rated choice for its specialization in trucking coverage. The review highlighted Sentry’s commitment to working with agents that only cater to truckers, while providing in-house claims adjusters who only handle trucking risks. Reviewers consulted a number of expert sources to conduct the assessment—narrowing down the selection based on factors surrounding policy ad-ons, financial strength, discounts, and overall offerings.

“Being named a top insurer for truckers by Forbes and U.S. News confirms what our insureds and agents have long told us; that Sentry’s products are tailored to the unique needs of truckers and that our tenured safety consultants and talented claims professionals—who handle just trucking claims—are all among the best in the industry,” said Nick Saeger, AVP of products and pricing for Sentry’s Transportation business. “With the financial stability that comes with Sentry, truckers can rest assured that we’ll be there for them over the long haul.”
