EL PASO, Texas (December 6, 2022) – The Borderplex Alliance is thrilled to announce that Sentry Insurance, one of the largest and most financially secure mutual insurance groups in the United States, has selected El Paso, Texas, as the location of its newest field office. The office is set to open in early 2023 and will provide both personal and commercial lines claims and customer service support.
Sentry selected El Paso to enhance its presence in the western part of the country to better serve and grow its customer base. The office will be located in the 60,000-square-foot-building at 1575 Resler Drive in northwestern El Paso. Sentry expects to hire 30 employees by the end of this year and anticipates employing up to 300 people in this office by 2028. This includes claims and customer service representatives, managers, support staff, and information technology workers.
“El Paso’s large bilingual workforce is one of the reasons we were drawn to this area,” said Elisha Williams, Sentry’s Chief Customer Services Operations Officer. “This is a critical need for us in serving our customers. El Paso also has a growing, diversified economy, is both business and family friendly, and there are amazing colleges in the community, which gives us a strong, skilled talent workforce pipeline for the future.”
Sentry’s El Paso office will operate under its companywide hybrid work model—three days of in-office, face-to-face work bookended by two work-from-home days.
Oscar Leeser, Mayor of El Paso, said, “Sentry has come to El Paso without financial incentives because El Paso’s large bilingual workforce, growing and diverse economy, business and family friendly environment, and world class colleges enhance the company’s opportunity to serve and grow its customer base well into the future. We welcome and look forward to Sentry’s expansion in our community!”
With the opening of the El Paso location, Sentry will now have 24 field and regional offices throughout the country.
“I am pleased that Sentry, a Fortune 650 company with a strong growing financial position, has chosen El Paso for its latest expansion. I know Sentry has invested in technology helping to increase their position in the industry. Our community offers a skilled, talented, and loyal workforce that will enable Sentry’s continued success,” said El Paso County Judge Ricardo A. Samaniego.
“Sentry Insurance’s decision to open a new field office in El Paso is a testament to the city’s strong workforce and vibrant economy. This investment will create hundreds of jobs for our community and further solidify our region as an ideal place to work, live, and grow,” said, Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance.
